Since the dawn of man, hunting has been a means of survival. Over the centuries, in most parts of the world, hunting has become more of a sport than a necessity. Millions of people take part in hunting in one way or another each year, and now, avid hunters will be able to enjoy their favourite sport even when it isn't hunting season. How is this legally possible? By playing the latest in the Big Buck Hunter series of video games, Big Buck Hunter Pro Open Season.

Raw Thrills and Play Mechanix have created another hit with their most recent Big Buck Hunter video game, which has proven to be extremely popular in arcades everywhere. Just like the other games in the series, players can hunt for three new game animals and 15 new treks, and, there are six different adventures:

Moose Adventure - Players can hunt in the Canadian wilderness at such locations as Alberta, the Yukon Territory and Manitoba, and bonus adventures in this level include the Turkey Hunt and Frog Flip'n.

Big Horn Sheep Adventure - Hunt in Idaho, Nevada and Wyoming, and also enjoy dove hunting and the Bears Gone Wild bonus rounds.

Elk Adventure - Another adventure in parts of Canada as well as the US, treks are in British Columbia, Saskatchewan and Montana. Enjoy the Pheasant Hunt bonus round and try to get a perfect trek (we'll warn you...it isn't easy).

Whitetail Deer Adventure - Treks take place in Illinois, West Virginia and Minnesota. Players can enjoy such bonus rounds in this level as the Duck Hunt and Pie in the Sky.

Caribou Adventure - More treks in the Canadian and US wilderness in locations like Quebec, Alaska and the Northwest Territories. Enjoy shooting at the Barrel Targets and going on the Goose Hunt.

Prong Horn Antelope Adventure - Treks are in Colorado, Texas and New Mexico, with such bonus rounds as the Gopher Garden and the Quail Hunt.

About The Popular Series of Games

The first game in the Big Buck Hunter series was released by Play Mechanix in 2001, and was so successful that it didn't take long before it inspired the sequel, Big Buck Hunter II, followed by Big Buck Hunter Call of The Wild and Big Buck Hunter 2005/2006, and of course, the most recent, Big Buck Hunter Pro. Play Mechanix, with Raw Thrills, also released Big Buck Hunter African Safari in 2008.

In the beginning, the games had one gun, and four players could compete against each other. With the release of Big Buck Hunter Pro and Big Buck Hunter African Safari, players could now enjoy using two guns for actual head-to-head competition.

The object of the Big Buck Hunter games is to shoot three bucks during each level, without shooting a doe. If the player does shoot a doe, he or she is called a "cow killer". The two most recent games in the series also allow players to shoot at varmints, and in Big Buck Hunter African Safari, players can go trophy hunting.

All of the Big Buck Hunter games are excellent additions to any pub, arcade or corporate breakout room, and some operators will even hire machines out for home use. Also Ideal for parties.
